Nataša Konc Lorenzutti (1970) studied acting at the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television in Ljubljana. After graduating, she spent several years acting in Slovenian professional theatres. Since 1999, she has devoted herself mostly to the writing of literature. She has written twenty books for children and young adults and six for adults. Her books have been nominated for, or have received, the most important Slovenian literary awards. She has received two Zlata Hruška Honor Awards for youth literature, the Svetlobnica Award for the best novel, and was selected for the Honors List of the IBBY international organization for youth literature. She has also been nominated several times for the Desetnica Award for the best literary work for children or young readers, the Večernica Award for the best literary work for young adults, and also for the Kristina Brenk Award for best original picture book and the Blue Bird Award for best unpublished literary work. She is a member of the Slovene Writers’ Association and a member of the Slovene PEN Centre.
