Writer, poet and translator Peter Svetina (1970) studied Slovene Language and Literature at the University of Ljubljana, having earned his PhD in older Slovene poetry and going on to attend postgraduate studies in verse theory at the Charles University in Prague. For six years he worked at Ljubljana’s Faculty of Arts, in addition to having managed the city’s library for children’s and youth literature (Pioneer Library) for a year. Since 2003, he has been lecturing at the Alpen-Adria University in Klagenfurt, where he teaches Slovene and South Slavic literatures. Peter Svetina writes books for children and adults alongside poetry and translation. He is a recipient of several artistic recognitions.
